Three Rathlin Island lighthouses on air
Members of Bushvalley Amateur Radio Club made their annual pilgrimage to Rathlin Island for the International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend (ILLW) 2026, activating all three lighthouses using special event callsigns.
- GB1RP — Rue Point Light
- GB2WL — West Light
- GB2EL — East Light
Just under 1,200 contacts were logged using SSB, CW and FT8, with 60 contacts on QO-100.
Rathlin Island is reached by frequent ferries from Ballycastle; the crossing takes approximately 45 minutes.
